ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OFFICER – PERMANENT FULL TIME

  • Salary: $98,404 - $104,380 
  • Plus up to 14.5% superannuation (conditions apply)

The City of Joondalup’s Economic Development activities play a key role in transitioning Joondalup from an economy supported by population growth to one driven by business investment, innovation and entrepreneurship. 

The City is seeking an Economic Development Officer to provide expertise to assist in implementing the City’s economic development strategies and projects and to provide business support and capacity building. This includes working with stakeholders from all levels of government across a wide variety of exciting projects.

Joondalup is uniquely positioned to support WA tourism and attract local, interstate and international visitors. To support tourism and the visitor economy the City of Joondalup works proactively to attract more visitors to the region and build Joondalup’s profile as a destination of choice. The Economic Development Officer will be responsible for delivering key initiatives that deliver the City’s Destination Plan objectives including events, stakeholder engagement, partnerships, sponsorships, tourism initiatives and managing the City’s destination brand delivery to the local business community.

Applicants need to provide a covering letter addressing the following: 

  • Tertiary qualification in related discipline such as Commerce, Economics, Business Administration, Urban Planning, Marketing or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience in managing competing stakeholder expectations and maintaining strategic relationships.
  • Proficiency in both oral and written communication, and record of effective report writing.
  • Experience in the development, administration and management of projects and events.
