Coordinator Park Operations

  • Salary: $121,873 – $129,707 per annum
  • Plus up to 14.5% superannuation (conditions apply)

The City is seeking an experienced and suitably qualified person to provide effective leadership to the Park Operations team in the position of Coordinator Park Operations. In this leadership position, you will be responsible for the strategic planning and operational delivery of park services to the City’s 253 parks, covering 580 hectares.         

Your duties will include coordinating operational programs, and overseeing field teams to ensure optimal resource utilisation through effective planning, scheduling, and service agreements. This role presents a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual looking to advance their career while making a meaningful contribution to the City’s parks.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in managing large-scale park operations, including park service plans and management practices. A strong understanding of horticulture and turf is essential to ensure all services are delivered in alignment with the City’s strategies, policies, and relevant legislation. This knowledge and experience will be essential to the successful coordination of park initiatives and the long-term sustainability of green spaces.

Your covering letter will need to address the following key criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification in Horticulture, Natural Sciences or a replated discipline.
  • Leadership Management qualifications and/or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in developing and managing park service plans, maintenance programs and  practices.
  • Extensive experience in operational budget preparation, monitoring and reporting.
  • Extensive experience with people management including coaching and leading multi-disciplinary work teams.
  • Extensive experience in project and contract management including tendering processes.

Appointment is subject to provision of a satisfactory National Police Certificate that is no more than three months old.
