Cyber Security Analyst – Fixed Term Contract

  • Salary: $94,267 - $110,289 per annum
  •  Plus up to 15% superannuation (conditions apply)

Are you passionate about protecting digital infrastructure and safeguarding sensitive information? The City is looking for a motivated individual with a proven track record, to support the City’s cybersecurity efforts, working on the latest security practices and technologies.

We are seeking a talented and driven Cyber Security Analyst to join our Information Technology team and play a pivotal role in enhancing our cyber resilience. In this hands-on role, you will monitor, detect, and respond to cyber threats across the City’s technology environment; drive vulnerability and patch management; uplift controls across cloud and on-prem platforms; and champion a culture of security awareness. You’ll also work closely with IT leadership to shape the City’s cybersecurity strategy, leveraging cutting-edge tools and methodologies to stay ahead of emerging threats. You will collaborate with IT and other business units to implement pragmatic controls aligned to leading frameworks and ensure the City remains resilient against an evolving threat landscape.

Experience with local government systems and business processes, while not essential, would be highly regarded. Your covering letter will need to address the following key criteria:

  • Comprehensive knowledge or demonstrated experience of processes and cybersecurity strategies to ensure robust cybersecurity controls.
  • Demonstrated experience in Information Security controls, IT risks, cyber frameworks risk analysis, security awareness training, network penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
  • Detailed understanding and experience of cyber security management processes including network security, malware prevention and monitoring security vulnerabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in administration of Mobile Device Management and Security.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of cyber security procedures, policies or essential eight maturity models.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of cyber security technologies including vulnerability management, endpoint protection and Cyber Security Support functions.
