Work Health and Safety Officer

  • Salary: $94,267 - $101,636 per annum
  • Full time Permanent
  • Plus up to 15% superannuation (conditions apply)

The City is looking for an experienced and proactive Work Health and Safety Officer with sound knowledge of contemporary work health and safety practices and principles to support a range of WHS programs across a diverse workforce.

This position will contribute to the continued development and delivery of the City’s strategic safety management plan and be responsible for activities which support the wellbeing, health and safety of all workers. Improving processes, responding to health and safety matters, reporting, and educating leaders will all be key factors in the success of this position.

Successful applicants will be required to hold:

  • WA ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence
  • Cert IV in Work, Health and Safety or equivalent.
  • Current Construction Safety Induction Card (White Card) or willing to obtain within one month of appointment.

Your covering letter (no more than 2 pages) will need to briefly address the following criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience in work health and safety within a medium to large diverse organisation.
  • Experience with incident investigations and implementing corrective actions. 
  • Developing and maintaining WHS documentation including policies, procedures and Risk Registers.
  • High level interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Experience using safety systems and/or excel to record, report and analyse health and safety data.

Appointment is subject to provision of a satisfactory National Police Certificate that is no more than three months old.
