General Hand – Urban Forest (Tree Pruner)

  • Salary: Level C $66,464 per annum / Level D $68,537 per annum
  • Plus up to 15% superannuation (conditions apply)
  • 9-day fortnight

Are you passionate about working outdoors and helping to care for the environment? The City of Joondalup’s Parks and Natural Environment team is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated people to help maintain and grow our vibrant Urban Forest.

In this hands on role, you’ll work as part of a supportive team to care for City trees, operating machinery and equipment to carry out tasks such as:

  • Tree pruning and removals
  • Planting and establishment
  • General tree and landscape maintenance

What we’re looking for

We’re seeking someone with at least one year of experience in arboriculture or tree care, along with:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Horticulture, or equivalent experience
  • WA C or MR Class Driver’s Licence
  • Construction Safety Induction Card (White Card)

Training available

If you don’t have all the certificates yet—no problem. The City will support the right candidate to obtain:

  • Chainsaw certification
  • Chemical handling qualifications:
    • AHCCHM307 — Prepare and apply chemicals
    • AHCCHM304 — Transport and store chemicals
    • AHCPMG301 — Control weeds
  • Basic Traffic Management certificates
