General Hand – Parks
- Salary: Level D $68,537 per annum ($1,328 per week)
- Plus up to 15% superannuation (conditions apply)

With an exciting restructure underway in Parks Operations, the City now has several opportunities available for General Hand – Parks roles. If you enjoy working outdoors, being part of a supportive team, and contributing to the maintenance and presentation of our beautiful parks, this could be the ideal role for you.
In this hands on and fast paced position, you will carry out a variety of scheduled and reactive maintenance tasks across the City’s parks, including:
- Planting, weeding, and general horticultural maintenance
- Turf care such as mowing and whipper snipping
- Assisting with landscaping and park infrastructure upkeep
- Delivering friendly and helpful customer service to residents, ratepayers, and City staff
What you’ll bring
To be successful, you will have at least one year of experience in park operations or similar outdoor maintenance work, as well as:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Horticulture or equivalent experience
- WA MR Class Driver’s Licence
- Construction Safety Induction Card (White Card)
Supported training

- Chainsaw Operating Certificate
- Chemical Handling Certificates, including:
- AHCCHM307 – Prepare and apply chemicals
- AHCCHM304 – Transport and store chemicals
- AHCPMG301 – Control weeds
- Basic Worksite Traffic Management Certificate
