Skilled General Hand – Urban Forest (Tree Pruner)

  • Salary: Level E $71,014 per annum ($1,365 per week)
  • Plus up to 15% superannuation (conditions apply)
  • 9-day fortnight

Are you passionate about working outdoors and helping to protect and enhance the City’s Urban Forest? The Parks and Natural Environment team is looking for motivated and reliable individuals to join us in maintaining and caring for the City’s trees.

In this hands on, active role, you will operate a range of machinery and equipment to undertake both ground based and aerial tree work, including:

  • Tree pruning and removals
  • Tree planting and establishment
  • General tree maintenance and care

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone with at least two years of experience in arboriculture or tree care, along with the following mandatory qualifications:

  • WA MR Class Driver’s Licence
  • Construction Safety Induction Card (White Card)
  • Chainsaw Operator Certificate

Training supported (to be obtained within the first 3 months)

The City will support the successful applicant to obtain the following certificates if they do not already hold them:

  • Chemical Handling Certificates, including:
    • AHCCHM307 – Prepare and apply chemicals
    • AHCCHM304 – Transport and store chemicals
    • AHCPMG301 – Control weeds
  • Basic Worksite Traffic Management and Traffic Control Certificates
  • EWP Operator Certificate
  • HIAB Crane Certificate (RIIHAN307E)
  • First Aid Certificate including CPR (HLTAID011 and HLTAID009)
  • Relevant tree assessment training/qualifications.
