Help Desk Officer - Fixed Term

  • Salary: $81,986 - $87,637 per annum
  • Plus up to 15% superannuation (conditions apply)
  • 2 year fixed term

The City of Joondalup is seeking a motivated and customer-focused individual to join its busy IT Service Desk. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or early-career IT professional to build practical experience and develop their skills in a supportive, professional, and collaborative environment. You’ll work with modern technologies while supporting essential business operations across the City and be part of an IT team that values learning, mentoring, and continuous improvement.

This hands-on role provides Level 1 IT support to on-site and remote staff, including logging and triaging requests, troubleshooting technical issues, and maintaining accurate service desk records. You’ll gain experience configuring and supporting end-user devices, assisting with IT asset management, creating user-friendly documentation, and contributing to IT projects as required. Technologies supported include Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and basic networking.

Applicants need to provide a covering letter addressing the following key criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification in an Information Technology related field or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in an IT Help Desk role working in a team environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge or experience of Internet/Intranet support issues.
  • Comprehensive knowledge or experience of MS O365 applications and administration.
  • Demonstrated experience in the configuration and installation of PCs, laptops and mobile Devices.
  • Demonstrated hardware and software troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

 Experience with local government systems and business processes, while not essential, would be highly regarded.
