Bushfire Risk Management Officer – 3 years fixed term

  • Salary: $107,874 - $124,012 per annum
  • Plus up to 15% superannuation (conditions apply)
  • 3 years Full Time Fixed Term contract

An exciting opportunity is available for a Bushfire Risk Management Officer to join the City of Joondalup Community Safety team.

Core responsibilities of this position include the implementation and review of the City’s Bushfire Risk Management Plan and Bushfire Risk Management System, providing advice that supports the provision of bushfire risk management within the borders of the City of Joondalup, developing and delivering bushfire community education programs, and establishing and maintaining appropriate relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

The successful applicant will have extensive and demonstrated experience in project management, Bushfire Risk Management, planning and overseeing prescribed burns, and the development of relevant protocols, procedures and other documentation and/or content.

Your covering letter will need to address the following key criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or substantial experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing, implementing, undertaking and reviewing projects, protocols and procedures related to bushfire risk management plans, including mitigation activities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of emergency management, environmental management and bushfire risk management practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of bushfire risk management principles.
  • Experience undertaking research, analysis, and providing technical reports and advice to support the provision of bushfire risk management.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining appropriate relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve reduced fire risk.
