Governance Officer – Full Time Permanent

  • Salary: $90,507 to $105,447 per annum
  • Plus up to 15% superannuation (conditions apply)
  • Permanent Full Time Position

This role is at the forefront of Council’s decision-making processes, providing high-level organisational governance and administration support functions at Council and Committee Meetings. Experience in creating agendas and minutes, attention to detail and the ability to meet multiple competing deadlines are essential. 

Please note: Attendance at evening Council and Committee meetings is required as part of this role.

To be considered for this position, applicants are required to submit a covering letter (maximum two pages) addressing their experience in the following areas:

  • A qualification in business, public administration and/or an equivalent level of knowledge and experience.
  • Sound knowledge of administrative and meeting procedures, including detailed understanding of agenda and minute preparation.
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation of high quality accurate written documentation for external stakeholders.
  • High level computer literacy - particularly Microsoft Office programs.
  • Experience working in a busy environment with competing deadlines.
  • Knowledge of local government statutory procedures, services and decision-making frameworks.
