Assistant Building Surveyor

  • Salary: $81,986 - $96,119 per annum
  • Plus up to 15% superannuation (conditions apply)
  • Full-time, permanent position

An exciting opportunity is available to join our Building Approvals team as an Assistant Building Surveyor. The position will be ideal for someone who has experience or looking at furthering their knowledge within the building surveying field.

As an Assistant Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for processing building applications within statutory timeframes, ensuring compliance with the National Construction Code Building Code of Australia (NCC BCA), providing technical advice to internal and external stakeholders and customers, carrying out site inspections and preparing reports/correspondence on building related matters.

Your covering letter will need to address the following key criteria: 

  • Completion of or progression towards obtaining a relevant tertiary qualification and/or relevant experience.
  • Experience and ability to interpret building legislation, policies, Local Laws, information sheets and procedures.
  • Relevant experience in the building industry or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of the role of Local Government within the community, and its functions as they relate to building matters.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills.

Experience in the building industry and assessment of building applications would be highly regarded, however, a positive mindset and can-do attitude is critical. Full training on technical aspects can be provided for the right candidate.
