Senior Policy and Research Officer – Full Time Permanent

  • Salary: $117,301 to $124,012 per annum
  • Plus, up to 15% superannuation (conditions apply)

This role contributes to shaping the City’s future by translating community needs and evidence-based research into clear policies and plans. This position is responsible for collecting and analysing data, facilitating community input, and providing well-founded advice to support organisational decision-making. It also involves planning and delivering community engagement activities, preparing concise and accurate reports, and ensuring all research and engagement processes comply with ethical, privacy and legal requirements.

To be considered for this position, applicants are required to submit a covering letter (maximum two pages) addressing their experience in the following areas:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Market Research, Social Sciences, Public Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced research and analytical capability, including survey design, interpretation of complex data and translation of insights into policy and planning.
  • Demonstrated experience in policy development, and in preparing or reviewing organisational plans, strategies and frameworks.
  • Proven experience in community consultation, including the design, delivery and evaluation of engagement activities and the preparation of transparent public outcome reports.
  • Proficiency with survey tools, statistical software and Microsoft Office, with strong capability in data analysis and presentation.
  • Knowledge of ethical research standards and data privacy requirements, with a commitment to equity, inclusion and culturally safe practice.
