General Hand – Urban Forest (Tree Pruner)

  • Salary: Level C $66,464 / Level D $68,537
  • Plus up to 15% superannuation (conditions apply)
  • 9-day fortnight

Join the City’s Parks and Natural Environment team and help maintain and enhance our Urban Forest. This hands-on role involves operating machinery and equipment to undertake tree pruning, removals, planting and general tree maintenance across the City.

If you enjoy outdoor work, take pride in quality outcomes and have experience in arboriculture and tree care, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll bring

You’ll need to have at least one year of experience in arboriculture and tree care and  hold the following tickets and qualifications.

  • Completion of or progress towards relevant tertiary qualification in: Conservation and Ecosystem Management; Horticulture; Arboriculture; or related discipline or relevant experience.
  • WA C Class or WA MR Class Drivers Licence.
  • Construction Safety Induction Card (White Card).

Training supported

The City is committed to supporting the right person to obtain the additional certificates required for success in this role. Training will be provided where the successful applicant does not already hold:

  • Chainsaw certificate.
  • Chemical Certificate (Prepare and apply chemicals to control pest, weeds and diseases AHCCHM307, Transport and store chemicals AHCCHM304 and Control weeds AHCPMG301).
  • Basic Traffic Management certificates.
