Coordinator Building Approvals

  • Salary: $128,463 - $136,720 per annum
  • Plus up to 15% superannuation (conditions apply)
  • Full Time Permanent Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced building surveyor to join the City as Coordinator of our Building Approvals team.   

Leading a team of building surveyors and support staff, the successful candidate will coordinate the functions of the team with a focus on professional customer service, accurate advice and sound and timely decision making.   

Your covering letter (maximum 2 pages) will need to address the following key criteria:

  • Ability to administer and apply building approvals related legislation and relevant building codes and standards within a local government setting.
  • Extensive experience in supervising staff within a building approvals environment.
  • Ability to manage time, set priorities and to plan and organise work for and within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to positively influence stakeholder relationships including with other staff and through customer service.  

The successful applicant will be required to hold:

  • Accreditation as a Level 1 (Building Surveyor) or Level 2 (Building Surveyor Limited) with the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors.
  • Current WA ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
  • Current National Police Certificate (or be willing to obtain one).
