Field Officer Urban Forest

  • Salary: $73,553 per annum ($1,414 per week)
  • Plus up to 15% superannuation (conditions apply)
  • 9-day fortnight

We are seeking an experienced, motivated and well-organised arboriculture professional to support the Urban Forest team in delivering the City’s tree planting, maintenance and related programs. The role assists the Technical Officer Arborist, undertakes tree assessments, and provides expert advice to staff, contractors and residents.

To be successful in this position, you will have a minimum of two year’s experience in Arboriculture/tree asset management and will hold, or be willing to obtain, the following:

Essential Licences and Tickets

  • WA MR Class Driver’s Licence.
  • Construction Safety Induction Card (White Card). 

Training Supported

The City is committed to supporting the right candidate to obtain  additional certificates required for success in this role. Training will be provided where the successful applicant does not already hold:

  • Basic Worksite Traffic Management and Traffic Control Certificates.
  • Chainsaw Operators Certificate.
  • Current First Aid Certificate including CPR (HLTAID011 and HLTAID009).
  • Relevant training, qualification and/or certificate in Tree Assessments.

Applicants need to provide a covering letter addressing the following:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Irrigation, Horticulture, Arboriculture, Conservation and Ecosystem Management or related discipline, or relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the maintenance of street trees and streetscapes.
  • Demonstrated experience in correct arboricultural techniques.
  • The use and maintenance of small plant and equipment associated with arboriculture.
  • Effective time management and organisational skills with the ability to follow instructions, prioritise tasks and manage multiple tasks or projects.
