Payroll Officer 

  • Salary: $90,507 - $96,119 per annum
  • Plus up to 15% superannuation (conditions apply)
  • Full Time Permanent

The City is seeking an experienced payroll officer to assist with processing and delivering an effective fortnightly payroll service, with a focus on compliance and customer service.  

Working closely with the Senior Payroll Officer in the processing and execution of the City’s fortnightly payroll using Aurion HRIS, this role requires an ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and adherence to strict deadlines. You will apply relevant Industrial Awards, Agreements, Australian Taxation Office and other statutory requirements, and contribute to continuous improvement across payroll processes and systems.

Your covering letter (no more than two pages) will need to address the following key criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification in accounting, HR or Finance and/or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience using a HRIS and other online technology to complete end to end payroll.
  • Experience processing multi award/agreement end to end payroll.
  • Experience processing workers compensation claims.
  • Knowledge of ATO regulations as they relate to payment of salaries and wages.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret Awards and Agreements.

Appointment is subject to provision of a satisfactory National Police Certificate that is no more than three months old.
